About the Program
Circle of Friends is a program that pairs students with special needs with general education students. Through these friendships, students with that are in both general ed and special ed classes learn about each other and about appropriate socialization. The program requires voluntary participation by all students. Students who sign-up for the program agree to eat lunch with their friend at least once per week. Each month there is a social for all Circle of Friends students and support staff. This is a time at the end of the school day for students to enjoy socializing. There are over 130 students currently participating in the program.
